LF Channel winner of the DIVEM Awards 2022, in the SM category

For us at LF Channel, winning the “Companies that add up” award recognises our inclusive and diverse perspective and the company’s trajectory.

By committing to the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, companies are recognized for their positive impact on society.

According to words described by the organization of the DIVEM 2022 awards: “LF Channel is awarded for the following reasons: Positioning itself as a company that has shown a commitment to the communication and marketing sector that works in favour of building societies more sensitive to diversity and inclusion. Their actions are framed in a firm commitment to values framed in the 2030 Agenda through SDGs 5, 8, 10, and 17, which allows them to positively impact the achievement of these goals through their daily work.” An honour to receive these words!

Cultural diversity as a competitive advantage

Accem, the organizer of the DIVEM Awards, is a non-profit organization with public utility, whose mission is the defence of fundamental rights and care for people in a situation or at risk of social exclusion.

This entity, aware of the strategic value of cultural diversity in business organizations, initiated the DIVEM awards with the mission of rewarding companies and organizations that promote diversity as a competitive advantage to enhance the capabilities of workers. Likewise, the organizing section of the awards helps companies develop their Corporate Social Responsibility strategy in line with the 2030 Agenda throughout the year. This strategy is oriented toward the fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goals.

At the award ceremony, were assist representatives of the awarded organizations.  Also in attendance were Isabel Castro Fernández, Secretary of State for Migration, and Miriam Benterrak Ayensa, Director General for Humanitarian Attention and Social Inclusion of Immigration, who spoke at the opening and closing of the ceremony.

As Celia Diaz, New Business Director of LF Channel, explains in the award ceremony on the past 22nd of November: “Even before the SDGs were named, LF Channel was working toward a more just, diverse, and sustainable society. Over the company’s 25-year history, we have collaborated with a wide range of causes and actions, and we’ll keep doing this.”

Why is so important for us to win this award?

Because it’s an important recognition of our trajectory as a company and, likewise, of all the actions we had been doing with other organizations and, of course, non-profit entities like Women in Mobile, Calala, Fundació Concepció Juvanteny, Verema Solidària, la Protectora de perros y gatos o Fundació Mona.

This award is also a recognition of the projects in which our CEO, Imma Folch has collaborated and participated, such as the company Be(in) Mindset, the first and only certifier in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, or  Bewo Project study, through which, in 2020, more than 39 women CEOs from more than 13 different countries were interviewed with the mission of disseminating the different models of female leadership and amplifying the voice of women in management positions. All these projects and collaborations have been decisive in winning the prize!

As marketing and communications professionals, we consider it essential for the industry to work in favour of Diversity and create alliances and synergies with other companies.

It’s important to remember the SDG that we work through, and we are especially implicated:

  • SDG 5: Gender equality: Break the gender inequalities in workplaces and the salary gap.
  • SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth: Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
  • SDG 10: Reduced inequalities: Reduce inequality within and among countries
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.

This is the second edition of the DIVEM 2022 awards and, winning this recognition, impulse us to work for a better and more diverse society. Accem: Thank you so much for this prize!
