Leading Communication in the Smart Lock Market in Spain with Nuki

THE CHALLENGE

Nuki is the leading brand in the development of smart locks in Central Europe. Since 2019, LF Channel has been working with Nuki on its communication campaign in Spain, focusing especially on media relations. As Nuki entered the Spanish market, the company aimed to position itself as the top home automation solution for access control, which was a significant challenge in a competitive market. 

Our first challenge was to introduce the Nuki Smart Lock 2.0 and its accessories to the Spanish press. Capturing the interest of key media and providing them with an in-depth look at the product was crucial for establishing Nuki’s presence in the market and positioning it as a leader in home automation and security. Since then, the LF Channel team has been working on consolidating the brand in Spain, increasing its recognition, and maintaining its leadership in the sector. 

STRATEGY

LF Channel designed a communication strategy focused on brand recognition through various phases:

Phase 1

Arrival in Spain

We organized a launch event in a central location in Madrid, where journalists had the opportunity to meet the company’s top executives and see the product on-site. During this event, personal interviews with the founders were conducted, and a number of reviews of the Nuki lock were arranged with consumer technology media. 

Phase 2

Brand Reputation Building

Since arriving in Spain, we have maintained constant communication with the press, keeping them informed about the company’s updates, organizing product reviews, and creating seasonal personalized content about the product functionalities. We also managed collaborations with influencers to expand the reach of our campaigns. 

Phase 3

Consolidation of the Company’s Image in Spain

Each year, we hold meetings with the media to present news and updates from an innovative company like Nuki. For example, in 2023, we organized an event attended by 20 journalists from influential Spanish media outlets such as Hola, Expansión, and El Confidencial, along with influencers like Eduardo Sánchez and Clipset, amplifying the reach and impact of our presentation. Additionally, we maintain constant communication with opinion leaders in this sector in Spain.

RESULTS

Since 2019, we have ensured the publication of over 200 articles annually, solidifying Nuki’s position as a leader in smart home locks in Spain. In 2023, we achieved the following results:
